botanical

I am surrounded, fed, healed, and supported by plants - they are my neighbours, food, medicine, kin. I live in the Boreal in a community of botanical relations and I spend time witnessing them, observing their shapes, colours, networks; they're/they’re selves. Each of these paintings are little engagements with a common plant in my territory, an appreciation. I want to visit deeply with them. This is an ongoing and simultaneously meaningful/meaningless series. My experience and practice as part of the land shows me deep time, meaning, and meaninglessness.

Each painting is on Midori cotton watercolour paper with Stoneground paint, some with archival ink.
