Flash are pieces that can be recreated and offered to many. Flash pieces are more visually general and designed through L’nu and Nlha7kápmx visual language connected to my home territories; they might be based on blanket or basket weaving, botanicals, water shapes, land or plant shapes, cosmology, star patterns, hieroglyphs, and sometimes pictographs or petroglyphs. They’re usually small, but they can be drawn in any size that you prefer or that will suit the area you want to carry the marking. They can be combined to create a larger piece or a story, or woven in to the design of a personal piece.
Personal pieces will be designed together based on your booking form and our following conversations. You can share what you’re comfortable and happy to share with me to create your marking together in a way that is full of your intention, voice, and anchors of your cultural and ancestral background. Your personal piece may, or may not, hold L’nu or Nlha7kápmx visual languages but they will hold design elements and visual elements related to your identity, style, or story. A personal marking is full of spirit and the journey to create one is thoughtful and collaborative. Ultimately, the piece is yours to hold and carry forward and I'll be honoured and excited to create it together!
